On Monday the Atlanta   Falcons traded inside linebacker Deion Jones to the Cleveland Browns.

Atlanta will also send its 2024 seventh-round pick to Cleveland in exchange for Cleveland's 2024 sixth-round pick.

In his 7 seasons with   Atlanta, Deion Jones recorded 650 total tackles (428 solo), 40 tackles for   loss, 11 interceptions, 8.5 sacks and five defensive touchdowns.

On its active roster   Atlanta have 5 Inside Linebackers – Troy Andersen, Rashaan Evans, Nick   Kwiatkoski, Nathan Landman and Mykal Walker.

Three years remained   on Jones’ contract with cap hits of over $13MM this year, and $20MM next,   this is another successful financial move from the Falcons’ perspective.

Falcons will be up to   around $77M in dead money once the trade of Deion Jones is official. That   will be a new NFL record for total dead money in one year.

Jones will join Jacob   Phillips, Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah and Sione Takitaki atop the Browns'   linebackers depth chart,
